1.6.2. Romanization
This FAQ uses a modified version of Hepburn romanization (see
4.3.5. What are the systems of romanization of Japanese? ), except in the list of transitive and intransitive
verbs (see 5.1.4. What 's the difference between hajimeru and hajimaru? ), which uses the Kunrei system. This was
used so that the types of ending of verb could be more easily
compared.
Modifications to the Hepburn system used here
Particles
The particle ha is written wa but the particles
wo and he are written "as is".
Long vowels
Long "o" vowels which are written with the kana おう, こう, etc., are
written ou, kou, etc., not oo, koo.
