1.8. Limitations of the sci.lang.japan FAQ
Mostly modern
This FAQ deals mostly with modern Japanese language, which reflects
the interests of the maintainer and many of the posters on
sci.lang.japan. However, sci.lang.japan contains experts on classical Japanese.
Lack of computer information
This FAQ does not cover the usage of Japanese on computers in any
detail. The Japanese language changes very slowly compared to the rate
of change of computer systems. Recording FAQs about computer systems
is unlikely to be of lasting value. Almost all of the information
about computers from 1994, when this FAQ started, is now out of
date. It is probably best to either do a web search for some relevant
information, or just ask your question on sci.lang.japan.
One maintainer plus your help
This FAQ was written by one maintainer plus help from the posters on
sci.lang.japan. I'm not an expert linguist and my Japanese may be far from
perfect, so please help me with this effort.
