Colloquial contractions

Here is a list of some of the most frequent colloquial contractions of regular verb endings:

-de shimau -jimau shinde shimae! literally "Go and die!", or "Go to hell!" shin{{different|ji}}mae!
-te iru -teru aite iru aiteru
-te oku -toku abite oku abi{{different|to}}ku.
-de oku -doku yonde oku yon{{different|do}}ku.
-te wa -cha mane shite wa ikenai "Don't copy people" mane shicha ikenai
-de wa -ja nonde wa ikenai "Don't drink" non{{different|ja}}ikenai
-te wa shinai -te ya shinai
-te ageru -tageru yatte ageru yo "I'll do it for you" yat{{different|ta}}geru yo
Other verb forms
-ru no -nno
nani o yatteiruno "What are you doing?" nani wo yatte{{different|n}}no?
-ranai -nnai shiranai "I don't know" shi{{different|n}}nai.
-nakereba -nakya
-nakute wa -nakucha tabenakute wa ikenai "must eat" tabenaku{{different|cha}}ikenai. Sometimes the ikenai is dropped too.
-nasai -na nominasai! "drink up" nomina! Contrast this with the negative imperative, nomu na "don't drink".

There are also non verb contractions.
