Gairaigo

Gairaigo (外来語) are Japanese words of foreign origin. However, the category gairaigo usually excludes words which were introduced from Chinese several centuries ago. As well as English, Japanese has gained words from German, Dutch, Portuguese and French. The Japanese have also invented their own pseudo-gairaigo words, such as wasei-eigo and many abbreviated and contracted words
