JIS X 0208-1983

This is a revision of the old JIS standard JIS X 0208-1978. It is also known as JIS83. Seventy-one non kanji and four kanji were added to the standard, as well as changes in character shape. Because of this transformation, some characters display differently on different computers or print differently.
