Macron
A macron is a bar over a character. In Hepburn romanization, macrons are used to indicate long vowels. For example, ō and ū indicate double o and double u vowels.
The equivalent of the macron in the Nippon-shiki and Kunrei-shiki romanizations is the circumflex.
