Review of Flip, Slither, and Bang - Japanese Sound and Action Words by Jimmy Hsu

This book is about Onomatopoeia (pera pera) and mimesis (wan wan) The book's format is similar to H.Fukuda's other book in the Power Series (T-shirt Japanese). A situational dialogue is first given in kanji/kana and then followed by a Romaji version. Explanations, in some detail, are then given for each onomatopoeia/mimesis word. Example sentences are also given to liiustrate its proper usage. All dialogues are modern and at times slangy and some dialect (Osaka ben) is also included. Each word is graded G, N, B (Good, Neutral , Bad) to help the user appreciate its connotation.

A good book, not only for learning Sound and Action words but also general slang.
