Review of 2001 kanji by Sean Holland

I have a copy of a wonderful little book called "2001 Kanji" by Joseph R. De Roo. My copy was printed in 1982. I had an opportunity to meet Fr. De Roo at the St Joseph Friary back in the eighties and talked to him about his book. He came up with a unique and very effective kanji look-up method, quite some time before Halpern hit the scene with SKIP. The book is also a great source of (mostly) real etymologies that I've found very useful in remembering the kanji. (Much better than Heisig.)

I've done a bit of a web search for mention of him or his book but I've come up dry. Has anyone seen this book around lately in book stores? Is anyone else here familiar with De Roo and his work? I plan to write to the friary to see if he's still happening, but I thought I'd post in here as well. I'd like more copies of his book for my students to use, and I'd be interested to learn if he has carried on the work.
