Vocabulary builder for level 1. Related words are grouped together, then organized into chapters. Examples of chapters include verbs, "keigo", "katakana kotoba" and words with several meanings.

Interesing little book. I especially like the way similar words are put next to each other and compared; for example, describing the difference between the words for rescue, "kyuuen" and "kyuujo". Includes sample sentences, drills and information about the words, their usages and meanings.

Book is in Japanese, but you shouldn't have a problem with this if you're studying for level 1.
